Andrea Howard bought the Tightrope Chocolate Company in 2017. At the time of the sale, the sole product was a 1.8 oz. bar of 70% dark chocolate, made from cacao beans sourced from a variety of producers and countries. The first year of business has been rapid growth and development, with the addition of multiple cacao percentages, inclusions, milk chocolate, sugar-free chocolate, truffles, bon-bons, and a new line of liquor infused chocolates.
Andrea started as a chocolate maker, learning the art of taking raw cacao beans through 9 steps to turn them into creamy and delicious chocolate. She has also honed her skill as a chocolatier, creating a sumptuous flavor experience using elements such as homemade caramel, gourmet peanut butter, ginger, lavender, cream de menthe, orange blossom, and the list goes on and on. She's become adept at not only making the incredible chocolate and flavored cream centers, but also at decorating and painting these lovely treats. The addition of an edible ink printer and airbrush makes personalization and sleekly designed bars and truffles a very unique offering.
Veritas also entered into an exclusive relationship with Royal Cacao to provide Direct Trade beans from Ecuador. This is important to their mission to make the world a sweeter place, while supporting cacao farmers with a fair price for their product.
Veritas means truth in Latin. That is our inspiration for creating delicious chocolate with only pure and true ingredients. It's also our commitment to only use cacao from Direct Trade farms so we can track the source of the ingredients we buy to ensure quality, sustainability, and equity for the producers.
Craft means we treat the process and the product like the art form it is, hand creating each step of the way.
